I had the pleasure of working with Simon Webster Hair to photograph their latest hair collection—an inventive series of designs that deserved to be captured as works of art in their own right. To bring Simon’s vision to life, I applied a variation of my signature lighting style—using contrast, silhouettes, and sculptural light to carve out the intricate forms and textures within each hair design. This approach not only emphasised the craftsmanship of the styling but invited the viewer to engage with the hair as a statement of artistic expression. Each look was paired with a uniquely coloured background, carefully chosen to complement and contrast with the eye makeup, creating a cohesive yet striking visual narrative for each model. These artistic choices allowed the collection to stand apart from traditional salon imagery, transforming it into a gallery-like series of portraits. The final images now feature in Simon's salon in Brighton, acting as both a celebration of his creative talent and a visual experience for his clients—bold, elevated, and unmistakably tailored to the identity of the brand.
