FLOODS OF COLOUR
Scorpio Jin Magazine - Volume 89 - November 2024
Floods of Colour was created as a vibrant editorial response to the expressive power of colour, movement, and silhouette in contemporary fashion. Produced for Scorpio Jin magazine, the project was conceived and led by me as a carefully directed studio editorial, designed to celebrate the strength and individuality of Ukrainian designers through bold image-making. From the initial concept and visual direction through to the organisation and execution of the shoot, my intention was to create a series that felt striking, energetic, and editorially refined.
At the heart of the story was a clear visual focus on colour as both mood and statement. Each selected garment brought its own sense of presence through vivid tones, sculptural lines, and distinctive construction, allowing the editorial to unfold as a layered composition of shape, rhythm, and intensity. Working within the controlled environment of the studio allowed me to shape the imagery with precision, giving the colours and silhouettes the space to feel impactful, elevated, and fully resolved within the frame.
Featuring Jennifer Cole of Linden Staub, the editorial gained an added sense of fluidity and elegance through her movement-led performance in front of the camera. With a strong sense of poise and line, she brought the garments to life in a way that heightened their structure and visual energy. The final series stands as both a fashion story and a creative statement — one that reflects my approach as a photographer and creative director: building a clear visual concept, leading a team through a cohesive production, and creating imagery that carries both purpose and presence.
